Save A creamy, tangy dip featuring the sweet richness of honey butter and the crunch of fried pickles, perfect for parties or snacking with chips and veggies.
I first made this for a game night, and everyone went wild for the combination of honey butter and fried pickles. The flavors were unexpected but instantly addictive.
Ingredients
- Creamy Base: 230 g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened; 120 g (1/2 cup) sour cream; 60 g (1/4 cup) mayonnaise; 1 tbsp honey
- Fried Pickles: 120 g (1 cup) dill pickles, finely chopped; 60 g (1/2 cup) panko breadcrumbs; 2 tbsp all-purpose flour; 1 large egg; 2 tbsp milk; 1/4 tsp garlic powder; 1/4 tsp paprika; Vegetable oil, for frying
- Mix-ins & Garnish: 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted; 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped (plus more for garnish); Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prep Pickles:
- Pat the chopped pickles dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Bread Pickles:
- In a shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, and paprika. In a separate bowl, whisk egg and milk. In a third bowl, place panko breadcrumbs. Dredge pickles in flour mixture, dip in egg wash, then coat with panko.
- Fry Pickles:
- Heat 1 cm (about 1/2 inch) oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry breaded pickles in batches until golden and crispy, about 1–2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Make Dip Base:
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and honey until smooth. Mix in melted butter and most of the chives (reserve some for garnish).
- Fold & Season:
- Fold in fried pickles, reserving a few for topping. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve:
- Transfer dip to a serving bowl. Garnish with reserved fried pickles and chives. Serve with potato chips, pretzels, or vegetable sticks.
